<br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MARCH 5, 2008 <br />Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, <br />Dailey Jones, Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski, Ryan <br />Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of <br />Council Seman <br />President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 <br />Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The minutes of the Council meeting of February 5, 2008 were approved as written. <br />President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage <br />under suspension of the rules: second reading, Resolutions 2008-35, 2008-38, 2008-39; <br />first reading, Resolutions 2008-40, 2008-43, 2008-45. <br />President Kennedy announced that a public hearing was scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, <br />March 18, for Ordinance 2008-17. <br />Councilman Ryan made a motion to remove Resolution No. 2008-23 from the agenda. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor O'Grady: 1) Second annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life is being <br />planned, and the next planning meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. on March 11 at the <br />Recreation Center. Contact Community Life Services Dept. Director John Dailey for <br />information. <br />2) Pool filter for our outdoor pool has been ordered and we intend to have it installed and <br />running by the beginning of June. <br />3) Senior Center held its annual garage sale this past weekend and generated over $1,500 <br />in profits to be used for senior programs. <br />4) Springvale is hosting a fish fry each Friday. Senior specials are from 4 to 5 p.m. <br />5) Congratulations to our high school Girls Varsity Basketball Team for their first <br />conference championship ever, sharing the crown with Olmsted Falls. <br />6) Congratulations to North Olmsted hockey program. All six of our teams made it to <br />playoffs, and one of our teams won the championship with a perfect season. <br />
