Council Minutes of 1/2!2008 <br /> <br />an agreement with the Southwest Suburban Retired and Senior Volunteer Program <br />("RSVP"} for the purpose of obtaining retired and senior volunteers referred by RSVP to <br />assist at the North Olmsted Senior Center; and declaring an emergency. Councilman <br />Orlowski moved for suspension of the rule requiring three readings noting that the <br />legislation had been reviewed in committee. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Gareau and passed unanimously. Councilman Orlowski move for adoption. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Gareau and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2007-142 <br />adopted. <br />Resolution No. 2007-147 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. A <br />resolution authorizing the Director of Public Safety to purchase three (3) new Crown <br />Victoria Interceptor Cruisers and two (2) new Ford Taurus detective cars, and related <br />police equipment, for the North Olmsted Police Department either through the State <br />purchase program or by competitive bidding conducted by Bidbridge, LLC; further <br />authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract and/or any other necessary documents in <br />connection with said purchase; and declaring an emergency. Councilman Gareau moved <br />for suspension of the rules requiring three readings and committee review. The motion <br />was seconded by Councilman Barker and passed unanimously. Dennis Lambert, 25057 <br />Carey Lane, asked the price of the vehicles. Councilman Gareau answered the state <br />minimum pricing for the Crown Victoria was $22,543 and $20,164 for the Taurus. <br />Councilman Gareau move for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Barker and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 2007-147 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 2008-1 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman <br />Orlowski. A resolution authorizing the Director of Community Life Services to make <br />application to the Ohio Historical Society for an Ohio Historical Markers Program Grant, <br />and for the Mayor to accept the grant if awarded and to accept any other donations made <br />from any other persons and/or organizations, all for the purpose of placing a historical <br />marker at Springvale Golf Course, commemorating the air flights and crash of James H. <br />"Jimmie" Doolittle over Springvale in 1929 and 1932. <br />Resolution No. 2008-2 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. A <br />resolution authorizing the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for a one year <br />contract (with an additional automatic one year extension) for laboratory analytical <br />services for the Wastewater Treatment Plant, as per specifications on file in his office, <br />and authorizing the Mayor, subject to approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a <br />contract for same with the lowest and best bidder, and declaring an emergency. <br />Resolution No. 2008-3 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman <br />Gareau. A resolution urging the Cuyahoga County Engineer and the Director of the Ohio <br />Department of Transportation ("ODOT") to inspect Lorain Road (SR-10) from <br />Canterbury Road to the city's east corporation line in order to determine whether the <br />2006 resurfacing of Lorain Road, which is badly cracking, by a State of Ohio contractor <br />was performed in accordance with ODOT bid specifications and all other ODOT <br />roadway and other requirements and standards, and declaring an emergency. <br />5 <br />~~ <br />
