Council Minutes of 1/2/2008 <br />4 <br />The changes to Council representatives for boards and commissions are as follows: Mr. <br />Kearney and Mr. Mahoney are added to the Cable TV Advisory Board; Mr. Mahoney is <br />the representative to the Recreation Commission; Mr. Barker is the representative to the <br />Board of Review. The other members stay the same as in 2007. <br />Councilman Gareau made a motion to adopt the recommendations of the Committee-of- <br />the-Whole with respect to the committee assignments, chairperson, vice chairperson and <br />membership, President Pro Tem to be Councilwoman Jones, and the changes to the <br />representatives of the various boards and commissions. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Barker and passed unanimously. <br />Councilman Orlowski, as vice chairperson of the Intra-Governmental Relations <br />Committee, moved to approve the Mayor's reappointments to various boards and <br />commissions: <br />• Civil Service Commission: Michael Ubaldi, for the term of January 1, 2008 to <br />December 31, 2013. <br />• Cultural Activities Commission: Gerald Yustick, for the term of January 1, 2008 <br />to December 31, 2009. <br />• Landmarks Commission: Thomas Schock and Paul Schumann, for the term of <br />January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2009. <br />• Fair Housing Review Board: Meena Mangla, for the term of January 1, 2008 to <br />December 31, 2011. <br />• A lateral appointment of Angela Williamson from the Board of Zoning Appeals to <br />the Planning & Design Commission to complete the term of Mr. Mahoney ending <br />December 31, 2010. <br />Councilman Orlowski also noted that the Mayor was reappointing Cheryl Farver to the <br />Board of Review as his representative for the term of January 1, 2008 to December 31, <br />2008. <br />The motion to approve the reappointments was seconded by Councilman Kearney and <br />unanimously approved. <br />Councilman Barker asked for a moment of personal privilege to thank the Safety Director <br />and the Police Dept. who helped him when he locked himself out of his rental car. <br />LEGISLATION <br />Ordinance No. 2007-143 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its third reading. An <br />ordinance amending Sections 351.18 and 351.20 of the Traffic Code in order to increase <br />the penalties for handicapped parking violations so as to mirror current state law, as <br />amended. Councilman Gareau moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Mahoney and passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 2007-143 adopted. <br />Resolution No. 2007-142 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its second reading. A <br />resolution authorizing the Mayor, on behalf of the city, to enter into, execute and renew <br />4 <br /> <br />
