Council Minutes of 1/2/2008 4 The changes to Council representatives for boards and commissions are as follows: Mr. Kearney and Mr. Mahoney are added to the Cable TV Advisory Board; Mr. Mahoney is the representative to the Recreation Commission; Mr. Barker is the representative to the Board of Review. The other members stay the same as in 2007. Councilman Gareau made a motion to adopt the recommendations of the Committee-of- the-Whole with respect to the committee assignments, chairperson, vice chairperson and membership, President Pro Tem to be Councilwoman Jones, and the changes to the representatives of the various boards and commissions. The motion was seconded by Councilman Barker and passed unanimously. Councilman Orlowski, as vice chairperson of the Intra-Governmental Relations Committee, moved to approve the Mayor's reappointments to various boards and commissions: • Civil Service Commission: Michael Ubaldi, for the term of January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2013. • Cultural Activities Commission: Gerald Yustick, for the term of January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2009. • Landmarks Commission: Thomas Schock and Paul Schumann, for the term of January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2009. • Fair Housing Review Board: Meena Mangla, for the term of January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2011. • A lateral appointment of Angela Williamson from the Board of Zoning Appeals to the Planning & Design Commission to complete the term of Mr. Mahoney ending December 31, 2010. Councilman Orlowski also noted that the Mayor was reappointing Cheryl Farver to the Board of Review as his representative for the term of January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008. The motion to approve the reappointments was seconded by Councilman Kearney and unanimously approved. Councilman Barker asked for a moment of personal privilege to thank the Safety Director and the Police Dept. who helped him when he locked himself out of his rental car. LEGISLATION Ordinance No. 2007-143 introduced by Mayor O'Grady was given its third reading. An ordinance amending Sections 351.18 and 351.20 of the Traffic Code in order to increase the penalties for handicapped parking violations so as to mirror current state law, as amended. Councilman Gareau moved for adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman Mahoney and passed unanimously. Ordinance No. 2007-143 adopted.
