In Lakewood, there was an
evacuation of a home because a person that was being arrested or was about to be
arrested was barricaded in there with weapons. It was the CERT team in Lakewood that
helped people evacuate their homes to get them into a safe location where they were
given food and lodging. This past weekend, Olmsted Falls / Olmsted Township had their
POD -point of dispensing -activated to give out H1N1 vaccines, and North Olmsted's
CERT people were there including CERT Coordinator, Tricia Granfors. This coming
weekend, North Olmsted will activate their POD and North Olmsted's CERT people will
help make this a reality. Without them, there is no way the city can do it on such short
notice.
