Council Minutes of 9/1/2009 Ordinance No. 2009-97 introduced by Council Member Dailey Jones on behalf of herself and Councilman Orlowski was given its second reading. An ordinance amending Section 337.20 of the Traffic Code to prohibit unreasonable noise caused by the operation of fake brakes, and further requesting that the Ohio Department of Transportation post signs on Interstate-480 in North Olmsted stating "Excessive Engine Braking Noise Prohibited." Ordinance No. 2009-100 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. An ordinance providing for the amendment of the Zone Map of the city of North Olmsted in order to supplementally zone the hereinafter identified parcels of real property so as to include them within the Wind Energy Overlay District ("WEOD") of the city of North Olmsted. Ordinance No. 2009-101 was introduced and placed on first reading by Mayor O'Grady. An ordinance revising the organizational chart of the Division of Springvale Golf Course by abolishing the position of Custodial Supervisor at the Springvale Ballroom in order to deliver services in a more efficient and economical manner. Ordinance No. 2009-102 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman Mahoney. An ordinance amending Section 331.42 of the Traffic Code in order to prohibit text messaging while operating a motor vehicle, and declaring an emergency. Councilman Brossard requested he be added as a co-sponsor, and Councilman Mahoney agreed. Resolution No. 2009-103 was introduced and placed on first reading by Councilman Mahoney. A resolution canceling the current agreement, and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a new agreement, with the North Olmsted School District granting the school district a license to install and maintain a removable fence on Diamond Number One Baseball Field at North Olmsted Park. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS Councilman Barker scheduled a BZD Committee meeting for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2009. The Planning Director is asked to attend. Councilman Kearney scheduled a Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee meeting for 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 to discuss Ordinances 2009-102. The Law Director and Safety Director are asked to attend. Councilman Mahoney scheduled a Recreation, Public Parks & Buildings Committee meeting for 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, to discuss Ord. 2009-101 and Res. 2009- 103. The CLS Director, Springvale Manager, and Recreation Commissioner are asked to attend. 11
