They have done our
community very proud, and he thanked them for a job well done.
RE~, PoRTS
Mayor O'Grady: 1) Welcomed the Scouts, Scout leaders and parents and congratulated
the Scouts on their upcoming All Scouts Weekend. Thanks to all of them for making our
community a better place.
2) Our city was successful in the 2009 Community Development Block Grant
application. Last week, the Cuyahoga County Commissioners awarded North Olmsted
the grant in the amount of $100,000 for Americans with Disability Act improvements to
the Senior Center, Community Cabin, and North Olmsted Park. Congratulations to
Planning Director Wenger on her leadership.
3) Westshore Council of Governments continues with interviews to select a firm to study
the potential for a Westshore Regional Fire District. The final interview in this cycle will
occur next week on June 10 at Bay Village City Hall. It is expected that selection of a
firm to handle that study will follow soon afterward.
4) Memorial Day ceremonies were held Monday, May 25. The dedication of the
monument renaming the flag area of North Olmsted Park as North Olmsted Veterans
Plaza was exceedingly well received by our citizens.
