C MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MARCH 3, 2009 Present: President of Council Kennedy, Council Members Barker, Gareau, Dailey Jones, Kearney, Mahoney, Orlowski. Councilman Brossard took his seat at 8:06 p.m. Also Present: Mayor O'Grady, Law Director Dubelko, Finance Director Copfer, Clerk of Council Seman President Kennedy called the meeting to order at 8:02 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes of the Council meeting of February 17, 2009 were approved as written. The minutes of the special Council meeting of February 18, 2009 were approved as written. The minutes of the special Council meeting of February 19, 2009 were approved as written. President Kennedy announced the following legislation would be considered for passage under suspension of the rules: Resolution Nos. 2009-26, 2009-27, 2009-29, 2009-32 and Ordinance No. 2009-33. President Kennedy reported that the Committee-of-the-Whole had met at 7:22 p.m. today with all of Council in attendance and directors Wenger, Farver and Dailey. The subject was to discuss the vacancy of the Ward I seat, and Mr. Lou Brossard was interviewed. The committee meeting was adjourned at 7:28 p.m. Councilman Mahoney made a motion to appoint Mr. Lou Brossard as Ward I Councilman for the city of North Olmsted. The motion was seconded by Councilman Barker and passed unanimously. Mr. Brossard came forward and was sworn in as Councilman of Ward I by Council President Kennedy. Councilman Brossard was congratulated by all present. President Kennedy commented that he has known Mr. Brossard and his family for a long time, and he knows he will be a hard working Councilman who will represent his residents well. Councilman Brossard thanked Council for the opportunity to serve Ward I and all the residents of the city. He is excited and ready to get started. Councilman Brossard took his seat at 8:06 p.m.
