~ ~:~, <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2009 - 121 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />PLANNING TO MAKE APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT <br />(CDBG) FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2010 FOR THE EMERGENCY <br />FOOD CUPBOARD RELOCATION PROJECT; FURTHER AUTHORIZING <br />THE USE OF CITY FUNDS AS THE LOCAL MATCH; FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE GRANT IF AWARDED; <br />AND TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council created, through the adoption of Resolution No. 2009-04, a <br />Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC), in part, for the purpose of reviewing and recommending <br />applications for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) during fiscal years 2010 <br />through 2012; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council, after a public hearing was conducted, has determined that the <br />City of North Olmsted qualifies for CDBG funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the Citizens Advisory Committee has submitted a report to this Council <br />recommending the above entitled project, which involves the relocation of the emergency food <br />cupboard; and <br />WHEREAS, said project includes applying for up to the maximum award of a tier two <br />CDBG municipal grant in the amount of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) for such <br />project; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of <br />Planning to make application for said CDBG partial funding for said project, to authorize the use <br />of matching funds for construction costs and an additional presently undetermined amount for <br />project administration costs, and to authorize the Mayor to accept the CDBG grant if awarded; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby authorize the Director of Planning to <br />prepare, sign and submit an application for Community Development Block Grant funds for <br />fiscal year 2010 on behalf of the City of North Olmsted for the Emergency Food Cupboard <br />Relocation Project in the maximum amount of $100,000; does further authorize the use of <br />matching City funds for the project as described in the application, for construction costs and an <br />additional amount as yet undetermined for project administration costs; and finally does <br />authorize the Mayor to accept the grant and execute a contract and any and all other necessary <br />papers, if a grant awarded. <br />
