< ~ ,, <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0.2009 - 95 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN <br />RESOURCES TO SOLICIT PROPOSALS FOR THE PERSONAL <br />SERVICES OF A THIRD PARTY ADMINISTRATOR (TPA) TO <br />PROCESS HEALTH INSURANCE CLAIMS AND INCLUDING THE <br />PURCHASE OF EXCESS INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR THE CITY <br />HEALTH CARE & HOSPITALIZATION PLANS FOR 2010, AND <br />FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, SUBJECT TO <br />APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT FOR SAID SERVICES AND INSURANCE, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the specifications for Requests for Proposals for a personal services <br />contract with a Third Party Administrator (TPA) of the City's Health Care <br />Coverage/Hospitalization Plans, including excess or umbrella coverage related thereto, <br />are on file in the Office of the Director of Human Resources; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Human <br />Resources to solicit proposals for said personal services contract and purchase of <br />ancillary or umbrella health insurance policy, and to further authorize the Mayor, upon <br />approval of the Board of Control, to enter into an agreement or agreements with a TPA <br />for claims service and for the purchase of said insurance policy with the most qualified <br />firm to perform the services and provide the umbrella insurance at a price that is fair acid <br />reasonable to the City; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY" <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Human Resources be and she is hereby <br />authorized to solicit or request proposals for a personal services contract between the City <br />of North Olmsted and a qualified Third Party Administrator (TPA) to process claims for <br />and otherwise manage the City's comprehensive municipal health care/hospitalization <br />insurance plans, including the purchase of ancillary health insurance umbrella policy, in <br />accordance with the specifications now on file in her office and that, upon approval by <br />the Board of Control, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement or <br />agreements for said TPA services and umbrella insurance policy with the most qualified <br />firm to perform the services and provide the umbrella insurance at a price that is fair and <br />reasonable to the City. <br />
