mss: <br />~ - ,,~ „~ <br />r <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2009 - 78 <br />By: Mayor O'Grady <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN <br />RESOURCES TO PURCHASE AN EMAIL SOFTWARE SERVER, AN <br />EMAIL ARCHIVING SOFTWARE SERVER AND A MUNIS SERVER <br />THROUGH THE STATE PURCHASE PROGRAM, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City's emails are currently stored and maintained by an outside service <br />provider; and <br />WHEREAS, the City's MUNIS server is five years old; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Human Resources and the City's <br />Network Administrator that, in order to better comply with state law requirements for records <br />retention and public records requests, the City purchase two serversan e-mail software server <br />and an e-mail archiving software server, to be operated and maintained on the City Hall site by <br />the City's IT division; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Human Resources and the City's Network Adminisfrator <br />further recommend that the City's MUNIS server be replaced due to its age and the critical <br />importance of this server to the City's financial operations; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Human Resources and the City's Network Administrator <br />propose to purchase these three servers and related software products through the State of Ohio <br />Purchasing Program, which is recognized as a competitive bidding process for purposes of <br />complying with the requirement of Article VIII, Section 6 of the Charter that expenditures in <br />excess of Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) generally be made only after competitive <br />bidding and the award of a contract by the Board of Control; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, based upon the recommendations of the <br />Director of Human Resources and the Network Administrator, to authorize the Director of <br />Human Resources to purchase the above described equipment and products through the State <br />Purchase Program, and to further authorize the Mayor to execute any documents required for the <br />completion of such expenditure; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />
