o~+. ,~ CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION N0.2009 - 71 BY: Mayor O'Grady A RESOLUTION EXTENDING FOR A SECOND ADDITIONAL ONE YEAR PERIOD THE CITY'S CONTRACT WITH SILVERLODE CONSULTING CORP. FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CONSULTING SERVICES TO THE CITY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, pursuant to the authorization of Ordinance No. 2006-202, the Director of Planning conducted an RFP process designed to select an economic development consultant for the City; and WHEREAS, as a result of the RFP process conducted, the Board of Control awarded a one-year contract to Silverlode Consulting Corp [hereinafter "Silverlode"]. on May 22, 2007, for the period June 11, 2007 through June 10, 2008; and WHEREAS, this Council thereafter, upon the recommendation of the Director of Planning, adopted Resolution No. 2008-80 on June 3, 2008, extending the contract between the City and Silverlode for an additional year from June 1 1, 2008 to June 10, 2009; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Planning that the contract of Silverlode Consulting Corp., based upon the quality of the work performed to date by Silverlode Consulting Corp. and the number of ongoing economic development projects in the City in which Silverlode is involved, be extended for a second additional one-year period from June 11, 2009 to June 10, 2010, rather than attempt to procure the necessary consulting services elsewhere and otherwise through the City's RFP/RFQ procedures; and WHEREAS, it is further the recommendation of the Director of Planning that the new contract provide for Silverlode to be paid on an hourly basis (rather than monthly retainer) for project work performed for the City; and WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council, acting upon the recommendation of the Director of Planning, to dispense with the RFP/RFQ process and authorize the Mayor to enter into another extension contract with Silverlode Consulting Corp. for a second additional one-year period from June 11, 2009 through June 10, 2010; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO:
