<br />Resolution No. 2009-55 <br />SECTION 3: That this legislation shall have retroactive effect to the date upon <br />which the Johnson law firm was retained by the Administration to represent the employer <br />in the FOP grievance involving recent layoffs within the Police Department; that further <br />this Council ratifies the Administration's retention of the Johnson law firm; and that <br />finally the Director of Finance is authorized to pay the Johnson law firm for legal <br />services rendered to date in this matter relating to the said arbitration. <br />SECTION 4: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety <br />and welfare, of this City and for the further reason that this Resolution is required to be <br />immediately effective because of a May 21St deadline for submitting an arbitration brief <br />in one of the pending arbitrations; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately <br />upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />,-~ <br />~, <br />PASSED: ~~ ~, ~ ~ a G'~ ~ <br />ATTEST.• <br />BARBARA L.
