AGREEMEniT <br />ARTICLE I .PURPOSE <br />Section 't. This Agreement is made between the City of Narth Oimsted, hereinafter referred to <br />as the "City, and Ohio Council 8 and Local No. 2681 of the American Federation of Stata, <br />County, and Municipal Empioyees, AFL-CIO, hereinafter referred to as the "Union'. The male <br />pronoun or adjecfive used herein refecs to the female a(sa unless otherwise indicated. The term <br />"employee" or "empfoyees" where used herein refars to ail employees in the bargaining unit. The <br />purpose of this Agreement is to provide a fair and reasonabfe method of enabfing employees <br />covered by this Agreement fio participate through Union represenfation in the estabfishment of <br />terms and conditions and af their employment, including rates of pay, wages, hours and working <br />conditions, and to establish a peaceful procedure for fihe resolution of a(I differences betwsen the <br />parties. <br />ARTICLE 2 .RECOGNIfIC3N <br />Section 1. The Union is -recognized as fhe soie and excfusive represenfative of the duration of <br />this Agreement for the employees in the job classification fisted in Exhibits B through B-14(b), <br />and the City will not recog.nize any ofher Union, organization or persan as tlie representative for <br />any employees within such classifications Nothing herein shall prevent individual employees <br />fram discussing terms and conditions of empioyment now coversd by this Agreement with the <br />City, however, such communicafion shalf not be used to undermine the posifion of the Union as <br />the representative of the ampioyees, - <br />1
