EXHIBIT B 8 <br />-)B CLASSIFICATION <br />MAINTENANGE MECHANfC <br />RESPONS1BLE TU Mp,tNTENAfVCE FOREN[AN <br />CHARAGTERtSTiC DUT{ES OF THE CLASSIFfCATiON: <br />This is ski(fed work in fihe construcfion, maintenance and repair of inechanica( equipment, machinery, <br />apparatus and facififies at the North Oimsted Wastewater Treafinent Plant and Wastewater pumping <br />stations. <br />` The job classificatian Nfainfenance Mechanic, invoives responsibility by the employee for the <br />performance of a variety of repairs and maintenance tasks in maintaining the efficient and effec#ive <br />operation of pumping stafions and the Wastewater Treatment Plant. <br />Empioyees within the job classification Maintenance Mechanic shall be able to use a considerable <br />variety of bench, hand and machine tools requiring accuracy and precision. Assignrnents are macfe to <br />spec'rfic jobs and generally inciude skefches, blueprints, oraf and written instrucfions. <br />Work performed by empioyees within the job classifica#iDn Maintenance Mechanic is usuaify performed <br />in coaperation wifih, or under supervision, of an Assistant Superinfendent who gives detailed assistance <br />on difficuft and/or complex jobs; however, more roufine work is performed with considerable <br />independence. Supervision by a Maintenance Mechanic may be exercised over Mechanic Heipers in <br />specific maintenance and repair activifies. <br />Empioyees within the job classir"ication Maintenance Mechanic shall be required to operate machine <br />and hand too)s in repairing defective parts of pumps, motors, valves, chemicaf feeders and other related <br />plant and pumping station mechanical equipment and recording devices of Wastewater Treatment Pfant <br />and pumping stations. <br />Empioyees within the job classification Maintenance Mechanic, shall be rec{uired and capab{e af <br />replacing defecfiive elements, iubricate bearings, repack valves and pumps, rsplace defective valves, <br />mators, pumps, controls and the like. <br />51
