t <br />Section 4. All bargaining unit empioyees who are not members of the Union shall pay a <br />fair share fee to the Union in the amaunt ceftified by the Union as being pr.operly chargeabie as <br />a fair share fee. Ali employees hired after the effective date of the Contract who do nof become <br />members of the Union shail pay the fair share fee, effective sixty (60) days from fhe employee's <br />date of hire, as a condition of employment. The deduction of the fair share from any earnings of <br />the employee shall be automatic and does not require a written authorization for payroll <br />deduction. Payrnent to the Union of fair share fees shall be made in accordance with Section 1 <br />and 2 above. <br />ARTICLE 5= BULLETIN BOARDS <br />Section 1. The City shail provide the Union three (3) enclosed and locked bulietin <br />boards: one (1) in the City Hali; one (1) in the Police Station; and one (1) in the Recreation <br />Department, for notices of Union business, including notices ofi Union meetings, elections, and <br />other Union-related matters. AII nofices or other materiafs posfied must be signed and dated by <br />a Union officer or steward. Upon request by the City, the Union shall remove any posting fhat is <br />inflammatory or critical of the City, City officials, or of any other employees or persons, of which <br />are pofifical (partisan) in nature. <br />ARTICLE 6 UNION REPRESENTATION <br />Section 1. Ernployees selected by the Union to act as Union representafives for the <br />purpose of processing grievances under the Grievance Procedure shall be known as Stewards. <br />The City will recognize one steward and one afternate from each of the following: <br />2 <br />3. <br />Building Division 4. Finance and Service Department and Bus <br />Police/Fire Department Line, Senior Center and Pubfic Works and Ffeet <br />Maintenance <br />Recreation Division, 5. Engineering Division, <br />Springvale Golf Course <br />PBX/Receptionist <br />6
