The <br />approval of the engine installation shall be at full horsepower ratin? in a cozltinuous duty <br />application under all operatin- conditions, including road and pump. No type of automatic <br />horsepower reduction feature shall be allowed. <br />There shall be no exception to any portion of the en2ine installation certification. <br />Nonconformance shall ]ead to immediate rejection of bid. <br />E'vGINE AIR INTAKE <br />The air iiltake with Ember Separator shall be inounted high on the passenaer side of cab, to <br />the front of crew cab door to prevent road dirt and recirculating hot air from entering the <br />enQine. <br />The Ember Separator shall be easily accessible through a hinged stainless steel grille, with one <br />(1) flush quarter turn latch. <br />EXHAUST SYSTEM <br />The exhaust system shall be 5.00" diameter. The exhaust shall exit on the right side ahead of <br />the rear wheels. <br />A heat deflector shield shall be provided where the tail pipe-is routed under aily side <br />compartrnentation. - <br />WARD NO SMOKE SYSTEM <br />A'vk- ard No Smoke system shall be provided and installed on the apparatus. No exceptions. <br />HIGH IDLE <br />? A hiah idle switch shall be provided, inside the cab, on the instrument panel, that shall <br />automatically maintain a preset engine rpm. A switch shall be installed, at the cab instrument <br />panel, for activation/deactivatioil. <br />Page 14
