Specifications <br />The high idle shall be operational only when tihe parlcing brake is on and the trucli <br />traizsmission is in neutral. A green indicator liQht shall be provided adjacent to the switch. <br />The Iight shall illuminate when the above conditions are met. The light shall be labeled "OK <br />To EnaaQe High Idle". <br />SILICONE COOLANT LINES <br />Silicone hoses shall be used for all engine coolant lines installed by the chassis manufacturer. <br />Hose clamps shall be stainless steel "constant torque type" to prevent coolant leakage. They <br />shall react to temperature changes in the cooling system and expand or contract accordingly <br />while maintaining a constant clamping pressure on the hose. <br />RADIATOR <br />Radiator and the complete cooling system shall meet or exceed NF'FA coolinc system <br />standai-ds. Caolina svstem capacity shall exceed all coolina requirements specified by the <br />enaine manufacturer under all truck operating conditions. It shall have a built-in loA,, coolant <br />siL,ht glass and ai7 electronically controlled ]ow coolant display inounted on the instrument <br />panel. An integral surge and deaeration tank shall be provided to optimize the cooling svstem <br />for all operating conditions. <br />The cooling systein shall be designed to nlaintain pressure at nine (9) psi for maximum <br />dissipation. A drain valve shall be located at the lowest point of the coolinQ svstem and at <br />otlier points to permit complete flushing of the coolant from the svstem. Cooling air shall be <br />drawn in by a heavy-duty fan, shrouded by re-circulation shields that permit onlv fresh cool <br />air through the radiator. <br />Radiator shall be of the serpentine design and bonded together by the patented "beta-weld" <br />process for increased strenath, longer road life and solder-b}oam corrosion protection. <br />Radiator shall be mounted in a manner to prevent the development of ]eaks caused by twisting <br />or strailling when the apparatus operates over unevezl ground. Radiator core shall be <br />compatible with commercial antifreeze solutions. Cooling system shall exhibit rapid warm-up <br />without use of radiator shutters. <br />FUEL TANK <br />.A 65-gallon fuel tank shall be provided and mounted at rear of chassis. The tanlc shall be <br />constructed of 12-gauQe, hot rolled steeL It shall be equipped with swash partitions and a <br />vent. <br />A.7S' drain plug shall be provided in a low point of the tanlc for drainage. <br />A fill inlet shall be located on the driver's side of the body and be covered with a hinged, <br />spring loaded, stainless steel door that is marked "Diesel Fuel Only". <br />A.50" diameter vent shall be provided ruririing from top of tank to just below fuel fill inlet. <br />Bidder <br />Complies <br />Yes i No <br />Page 15
