Specifications <br />The tailh shall meet all FHWA 393.67 requirements includinc, a fill capacity of 95% of tank <br />Volume. <br />All iuel lines shall be provided as recoininended by the enaine manufacturer. <br />AUXILIARY FUEL COOLING SYSTEM <br />A supplementary fuel coolinQ system shall be provided to allow the use of water from the <br />discharge side of the pump for cooling the chassis enaine fueL The heat exchanQer shall be <br />acvlindrical type and shall be a separate unit. The cooler shall operate any time the pump is <br />dischar6ing «?ater and shall be plumbed to the master drain valve. <br />TR.ANSMISSION <br />An Allison, modeI HD4060PR, electronic, torque converting, automatic transmission with <br />retarder shall be provided. <br />Two (2) PTO openings shall be locaied on left side and top of converter liousing (positions 8 <br />o'cloclc and 1 o'clock). <br />A t:ansmission temperature crauQe, with red light and audible alann, shall be installed on the <br />eab instntment paneL ? <br />The transm'lssion retarder control shall be (RET10) activated 33% by letting off the <br />accelerator pedal or 100°/o by applying the brake pedal. A second onioff switch is provided to <br />activate and deaetivate the auto apply portion.. <br />The transmission shall have the 1300 ft. lb. torque (low) spring settinc for retardation force. <br />The transmission retarder shall have a master "orv'off' switch on the instrument paneL An <br />indicator liaht shall be provided to notify the driver the transmission retarder is activated. <br />Also, a red indicator light shall be provided to warn that the transmission is being <br />overvvorked. <br />The retarder shall be wired to the brake Iiahts so the_y are energized when the retarder is <br />slowing the vehicle down. <br />The ABS svstem shall automatically disenQaae the auxiliarv b:aking device: when required. <br />A five (5)-speed pusli button shift module shall be mounted to right of driver on console. <br />Snift position indicator shall be indirectly lit for after dark operation. <br />The transmission ratio sha11 be: Ist - 3.51 to 1.00, 2nd - 1.91 to 1.00, 3rd - 1.43 to 1.00, 4th - <br />1.00 to 1.00, Sth - 0.74 to 1.00, R- 4.80 to 1.00. <br />TRANSMISSION COOLER <br />An external transmission oil cooler shall be provided. <br />Bidder <br />Complies <br />Y"es I No <br />Page 16
