Specifications <br />AIR CONDITIONING <br />A high performance air conditioning system shall be furnished inside the cab and crew cab. <br />The air conditionina system shall perfonn as follows: <br />In 100 degree Fahrenbeit ambient temperature with 50 percent relative humidity and at inaximul <br />compressor speed, the cab and crew cab shall cool down to 75 dearees Fahrenheit within 3 <br />minutes. Actual test results from the manufacturer of the air conditioning system, verifying th: <br />performance requireinent, shall be submitted with bid. <br />A 19.0 cubic inch compressor shall be installed on tlze engine. <br />A roof mounted condenser, with adequate BTU to meet the performance specification, shall <br />installed on the cab roof. <br />Two (2) evaporator units shall be installed in the cab, located in the followiilg locations: <br />- Oiie (1) in the cab dash, just to the front of tihe officer <br />- One (1) in the crew cab, mounted to ceiling <br />The evaporator units sha11 have an adequate BTU rating to meet the perfonnance specifications. <br />The air conditioninQ svstem shall have adjustable air outlets incorporated into the cab dash at L <br />the driver and officer positions. The evaporator unit in the crew cab sha11 have adjustable <br />outlets located directly on the evaporator unit. <br />The air conditioner refrigerant shall be R-134A, installed by a certified technician. <br />The cab and crew cab walls shall be insulated with 2.00" izlsulation where possible and the <br />with 1.00" insulation to aid in cooling. <br />Theinsulation shall be covered with a vinyl liner or a znetal panel painted to match tIle <br />i nteri or. <br />C 4B INSTRUME:!'TA'I'I0N <br />Instrument panel controls and switches shall be identified as to function by imprinted word(s) <br />adjaeent to eaeh item. Actuation of the headlight switch shall illuminate ("back-lite") wording <br />for after dark operation. Turn signal and high beam headlight indicator 112hts shall also be <br />provided. <br />To avoid confusion, warninlg indicators shall be (where possible) the "dead fiā¢ont" type, <br />meaning the warning Iight and word identification of same does not shaw up unless it is <br />necessary. <br />Instrument panel gauges, vehicle lights and other electrical accessories shall use proper size <br />Bidder <br />Complies <br />Yes f No <br />Page 25
