Specifications prevent damage to painted surface when hose is removed. Flooring of the hose bed shall be removable aluminum gratinq with the top surface corruaated to aid in hose aeration. The grating slats sha11 be a minimum of.50" x 4.50" with spacing between slats for hose ventilation. Hose bed shall accommodate 800' of 5" DJ LDH, 800' of 2.50" DJ hose. Two (2) adjustable hosebed dividers shall be furnished for separating hose. Each divider shall be constructed of a.125" brushed aluminum sheet fitted and welded into a slotted. i-adiused extrusion along the top, bottom and rear edge. Divider shall be held in place by ti-hteiliilg two (2) bolts, one (1) at each end. Acorn nuts shall be installed on all bolts in the hose bed which have exposed threads. RUNNING BOARDS Running boards shall be fabricated of.125 " bnght aluminum treadplate. TAILSOARD Rear step shall also be constructed of .125" bright aluminum treadplate and spaced .50" from tlle bod-,r, as well as supported by a structural steel assembly. The rear tailboard shall be 16.00" deep. Tne exterior side shall be flanged down and in. F1anaes shall not be notched. Entire rear surface between the beavertails shall be covered with bright aluminum treadplate to protect the paiiited surface when removinlc, hose. Inside surface of each beavertail in the hose bed area shall be covered with polished stainless steel to protect the paint finish.
