Specifications <br />TOU' BAR <br />A tow bar shall be instalIed under the tailboard at center of truck. <br />Tow bar shall be fabricated of 1.00" CRS bar rolled into a 3.00" radius. <br />Tow bar assembly shall be constructed of .38" structural angle. VJhen force is applied to the <br />bar, it shall be transmitted to the frame raiL Tow bar assembly sha11 be designed and positioned to allow up to a 30 de?ree upward angled <br />pull of 17,000 pounds, or a 20,000 pound straight horizontal pull in Iine with the centerline of <br />the vehicle. <br />Tow bar design shall have been fully tested and evaluated usina strain gauge testing and finite <br />eIeiilent analysis techniques. ? <br />COMPARTMENTATION <br />Body and compartments shall be fabricated of .125", 5052-1132 aluininum with a tensile <br />str-ength range of 31,000 to 38,000 psi. <br />Side compartments shall be an integral assembly with the rear fenders. <br />Circular fender liners shalI be provided for prevention of rust pockets and ease of <br />inaintenance. <br />Compartment flooring shall be of the su?eep out design with the floor hiQher than the <br />compartment door lip. <br />The compartment door opeiung shall be framed by flangin? the edges in 1.75" and bending <br />out aUaiiz .75" to fornl an angle. <br />Drip protection sha11 be provided above the doors by means of briQht alumii7uzn extrusion. <br />fornled bright aluminum treadplate or polished stainless steel. ? <br />The top of the compartment shall be covered with bright aIuminum treadplate rolled over the <br />edoes on the front, rear and outwai-d side. These covers shall have the comers "TIG" welded. <br />Side compartment covers shall be separate from the compartment tops. <br />FI-ont facing compartment walls shall be covered with briaht aluminum treadplate. <br />All screws and bolts which protrude into a compartment shall have acorn nuts on the ends to <br />prevent injury. <br />UNDERBODY SUPPORT SYSTEM <br />Due to the severe loadinc, requirements of this pumper a method of body and compartment <br />support suitable for the intended load shall be provided. <br />Bidder <br />CompIies <br />I'es I No <br />Paae 37
