Specifications <br />cut spur design shall be provided to eliminate all possible end thrust. <br />The pump ratio shall be selected by the apparatus manufacturer to provide the maximum <br />performance with the engine and transmission selected. Thr•ee (3) green warning 1ights shall <br />be provided to indicate to the operator(s) when the pump has completed the shift from Road to <br />Puinp position. Two (2) lights shall be located in the truck driving compartment and one (1) <br />li¢ht on pump operator's panel, adjacent to the throttle control. <br />AIR PITMP SHIFT <br />Pump shift engageznent shall be made by a two (2) position sliciing collar, actuated <br />pneumatically (by air pressure), with a three (3) position air control switch located in the cab. <br />Two (2) indicator 112hts shalI be provided adjacent to the pump shift inside the cab. One (I) <br />areen li2ht shall indicate the pump shift has been completed and be labeled "pump engaged". <br />The second green Iiffht shall indicate -,vhen the pump has been enaaaed and the chassis <br />transmission is in pump gear. This indicator light shall be labeled "OK to puinp". <br />Another green indicator light shall be installed adjacent to the hand throttle on the pump panel <br />and indicate either the pump is eneaged and the road transmission is in pump gear; or the road <br />transmission is in neutral and the pump is not engaged. This light shall be labeled "Warnin <br />Do not open throttle unless light is on". <br />TR4NSMISSION LOCK-UP <br />The direct gear transmission lock-up for the fire pump operation shall enaage automatically <br />when the pump shift controL in the cab, is activated. <br />AL'XILIARI' COOLING SYSTEM <br />A suppleinentary heat exchange cooling system shall be provided to allow the use of water <br />from the discllarQe side of the pump for cooling the engine water. Heat exchanGer shall be <br />cylindrical type and sha11 be a separate unit. It shall be installed in the plump or engine <br />compartment with the control located on the pump operator's control panel. Exchanaer shall <br />be plulnbed to the master drain valve. Enaine water Iines sha11 be iun inside plastic conduit. <br />INTAIiE RELIEF VALVE <br />An Ellchart relief valve shall be installed on the suction side of the pump preset at 125 psig. <br />Relief valve shall have a workina ranQe of ?5 psig to 250 psig. <br />Outlet shall terminate below the framerails with a 2.50" National Standard hose thread adapter <br />and shall have a"do not cap" warning tag. <br />Control shall be located behind an access door at the right (passenger's) side pump panel. <br />TOTAL PRESSURE MASTER RELIEF VALVE <br />A Hale Total Pressure Master relief valve system shall provide both the discharge and suction <br />protection (against excess inlet pressure) as required by NFPA pamphlet #1901 standards. <br />Bidder <br />Complies <br />Yes I No <br />Page 47
