The suction inlets <br />shall include removable die cast zinc screens that are designed to provide cathodic protection <br />for the pump, thus reducina corrosion in the pump. <br />The main puinp in3ets shall have National Standard Threads with a 1ong handle chrome cap. <br />SHORT SUCTION TUBE <br />The suction tubes on the midship pump shall have "short" suction fubes to allow, for <br />instaliation of adapters without excessive overhanQ. <br />N AI.N'ES <br />All hall ealves, shall be Akron Brass in-line vaives. These valves shall have pwo (2) self- <br />adjusting seats to hold both pressure and vacuum in either direction. A Norlcalon ball shall beprovided for the swina-out ball valves. <br />INLET (Left side) <br />On the left side pump panel shall be one (1) - 2.50" auxiliary- suction, tezminatina in 2.50" <br />National Standard Hose Thread. The auxiliary suction shall be provided with a strainer. <br />c1u-ome swivel and plua. <br />INLET (Right side) <br />On the right side pump panel shall be one (1) - 2.50" auxiliazy suction, temlinating in 2.50" <br />National Standard Hose Thread. The auxiliary suction shall be provided with a strauler, <br />chrome swivel and plu1c;. <br />RECESSED ti'ALN'ES <br />The location of the valve for the two (2) inlets sha11 be behu7d the pump panel. <br />4DAPTER INLET <br />Two (2) adapters for tiie inlets shall be furnished with a special thread adapter, converting the <br />National Staiidard hose thread to 3.078 X 8 Clevelaild standard. <br />IN'LET CQNTROL <br />Control for the side auxiliary inlet(s) shall-be located at the inlet valve. <br />INLET (Front) <br />A 5.00" Inlet front inlet with die cast zine screens shall be provided using 5.00" welded black <br />iron pipe and a 5.00" butterfly valve. Only radiused elbows shall be used in the piping, no <br />mitered joints.
