The <br />pump panel shall be illuminated bv iiicandescent lights installed under a brieht aluminum <br />treadplate step. <br />Tiie step shall have a minilnum of an 8.00" stepping surface and it shall be properlv reinforced <br />to support a man's wei aht. <br />The Iights shall be operated from a switch on the pump panel. <br />Each Iight shall have a.125" hole in the lens to prevent moisture retention. <br />One (1) Weldon, Model 9186-23882-30, step Iight shall be provided. The step light shall be <br />installed as to illuininate the top of the step for nighttime vision. The step light shall be <br />activated by the pump panal light switch. <br />ELECTRICAL <br />Al1 12-volt electrical equipment installed by the apparatus manufacturer shall confoz-m to <br />modern automotive practices. All wirin? shall be high temperature cross-linlc tvpe. VF%uii1g <br />shall be run, in loom or conduit; where exposed and have grommets where wire passes <br />tllrouQh sheet metal. Autoinatic or manual reset circuit breakers shall be provided which <br />coilfoi7n to SAE Standards. Wirina shall be color; function and number coded. Funetion and <br />zlumber codes shall be continuously in7printed on al1 wiring harness coilductors at 2.00" <br />intervals. Exterior exposed wire connectors shall be positive locking, and envirozunentallv <br />sealed to withstand elements such as teinperature extremes, moisture and automotive fluids. <br />Electrical wirinQ and equipznent shall be installed utilizing the following guideliizes: <br />(1?} All lioles made in the roof shall be eaulked with silieon, rope caulk is not acceptable. <br />Lar2e fender washers, liberally caulked; s11a11 be used when fastenin-Q equipmellt to the <br />underside of Yhe cab roof. <br />(2) Any electrical component that is installed in an exposed area shall be mounted in a inanner <br />that shall not allow moisture to accumulate in it. Exposed area shall be defined as anv <br />location outside of the cab or bodv. <br />(3) Electrical components designed to be removed for maintenanee shall not be fastened with <br />nuts and bolts. Metal screws shall be used in mountin? these devices. Also a coil of Nvire <br />shall be provided behind the appliance to allow them to be pulled away from the mountina <br />area for inspection and service work. <br />(4) Corrosion preventative compound shall be applied to all terminal plugs located outside of <br />the cab or body.
