3.0
4.0
PROJECT APPROACH
The project consists of evafuating the existing storm sewer for adequacy and condition.
Wade-Trim/Ohio, Inc. believes at this time the existing drainage system should be
replaced. This is based on the foltowing reasons:
1. The age of the existing system;
2. The size is inadequate, based on the fact that the existing 18" storm sewer from Eleanor
Drive is connecting into a 12" diameter pipe on Columbia Road; and
3. Storm sewers do not exist in front of many properties and therefore do not allow the
properties to be tied into the storm drainage system as required by the City.
Wade-Trim/Ohio, Inc. design team will provide detailed plans and specifications for the
replacement of the storm drainage system. The preliminary plan preparation will consist
of an in-depth field survey to locate existing items. Ohio Utility Protection Service
(OUPS) will be called in to locate the existing utilities on the site to assist our crew in the
location of the underground utilities. We will also review United Survey's information
from the videotaping of the existing sanitary sewer. This will help us identify the house
connections so conflicts between the sanitary connection and proposed storm system
can be addressed in the plans.
Wade-Trim/Ohio, Inc. also recommends videotaping the existing storm sewer and the
laterals, if the condition of the pipe allows. This will identify the locations of the existing
property connections and verify the condition of the laterals. The price for this service
has not been added to our fee. We would like to discuss the City's opinion on re-using
existing laterals.
The detail plan preparation will consist of complete stormwater calculations to locate
inlets, outlets, and appropriate size pipe. Future service connections will be provided at
Florence Avenue and Eleanor Drive. A review of reusing the roadway catchbasins will
be performed to save the City money and minimize the number of trenches across
Columbia Road. The roadway, curb, aprons, sidewalk and treelawn will be detailed for
replacement where necessary due to the contractor's operation. We anticipate all work
will be within the existing right of way.
SCHEDULE
Wade-Trim commits to meeting the foliowing milestones:
Authorization to Proceed:
Field Work Completed:
Detail Design Completed:
City Review Completed:
Revisions Made and
Bid Packages Completed:
May 14, 2001
May 18, 2001
June 15, 2001
June 29, 2001
July 10, 2001
5.0 COST OF SERVICES
Wade-Trim proposes to provide the services identified in this proposaf for an estirnated
fee of $26,042.00. This includes labor and expenses for complete project development.
Invoices will be submitted monthly based on the work completed during the period. The
City of North Olmsted will incur no additional costs unless prior approval is obtained.
The spreadsheet on the following page provides more detail on the project costs. We
are.available to discuss these costs and the corresponding work scope to adjust them to
the City's needs.
6
f2.
