Page 2 of 4 <br />(d) The consultant shall indemnify and hold the City harmless from a111osses and <br />damages resulting from the Consultant's faiiure to meet the standard of care for <br />services at the level customary for cornpetent and prudent engineers performing <br />such services. The Gonsultant shall be responsible for the professional quaIity, <br />technical aecuracy, timely completion, and coardination of all services. <br />(e) The scope of services may be amenderl by mutual agreement. <br />(f) If a dispute arises betwaen the Consultant and the City regarding the contract for <br />services, the City and the consultant sha11 negotiate in an attempt to resolve the <br />dispute. Should negotiations be unsuccessful, a mutually accepta,ble third party <br />may be engaged to mediate the dispute, wZth expenses equally shared between the <br />City and the Consultant. <br />2. Survevins Services: <br />(a) Research and procure all appropriate records and perform all surveys to establish <br />the horizontal and vertical control alignment for the prapased improvements. <br />(b) Obta.in all pertinent information regarding the present conditions at the site with <br />respect to existing installation or other conditions relevant to the design. <br />3. Pre-Design Sea-viees: <br />(a) Coordination of owner-suppliecl data, including Engineering Department <br />requirements. <br />(b) Presentation to the City of preliminary Iayout plans, budget and schedule for <br />review. <br />4. Dra?ing Services: <br />(a) Prepare plan and detail sheets at appropriate scales on 24" x 36" sheets. A11 <br />survey points are to be included on the drawing. Show all storm and sanitary <br />utilities in plan and profil.e. PIans sha11 indicate any areas on private property <br />where grade of new improvements wauld necessitate such items as minor gsading <br />of lawn areas or replacement of a portion of driveways. <br />(b) .All lettering on the plan and detail sheets is to be done with drafting standarcis <br />acceptable to the City. Drawings shall include a title sheet, general notes, ty-pical <br />sections, plan sheets, and detail sheets.
