Prepazation of design drawings and specifications for use in bidding and construction. The specifications shall be incorporated into a Project Manual which shall also include the advertisement, instruction to bidders, general conditions, bid forms, Bond Requirements, Prevailing Wage Rates, Affidavits, and other miscellaneous forms required for a bidding document. Final plans and specifications shall incorporate all changes required in review of preliminary or intermediate plans. b. Work shall be coordinated with utility companiesas necessary. '~. c. Eighteen (18) sets of plans and fifteen (15) bound and Project Manuals shall be furnished to the City for bidding purposes. Additional sets shall be provided, if required, at cost. d. An opinion of probable costs for the project, broken down into major components, shall be submitted prior to bidding. e. The Engineer or his representative shall be available to answer questions ~~ regazding plan intent during bidding and construction and shall assist the City in the evaluation of all bids received. `~ You may submit the price proposal in the format you deem most appropriate; however, the City prefers the Proposal to include an amount not to exceed a specific dollaz amount for the design of the facility and a separate amount for the easement reseazch and preparation. You may also include any standazd terms and conditions of your Proposals, rates for supplementary services such as construction observation, and any clazifications or qualifications to the requested Proposal which you deem appropriate. Please include a _~ tentative schedule of the proposed activities to complete the requested services. a~ It is anticipated that the contract for engineering services will be entered into as soon as possible after review of all proposals. It is required that the design work be completed by _ December 31, 1997, with bidding taking place in January, 1998. Plans showing existing utilities in the area are available for your review. Please submit the Proposal not later than September 2, 1997 and direct your Proposal to the attention of the Service Director, Ralph H. Bohlmann, for acceptance by the Mayor. If the Proposal is satisfactory, it will be presented to City Council for authorization to the Mayor to enter into a contract for said services.
