A. GENERAL PROJECT REQUIItEMENTS <br />All work will conform to the requirements stated in the Request for Proposal dated August 19, <br />1997, included at the end of this Section. In general, the work will consist of removing the <br />existing asphalt wearing course, performing necessary concrete base and joint repairs, and <br />providing a new asphalt concrete surface. Existing curbs and underdrains will be replaced. Storm <br />sewer manholes and catch basins will be reconstructed, repaired or replaced. The following <br />services will be provided: ; <br />1. Field Survey <br />The field surve will be rformed to minimize curve work, the project base plans will <br />Y Pe Y <br />be compiled from existing records. The surveyor will establish the road centerline in the <br />field, and obtain profile grade elevations at 25' intervals. The right-of--way lines will be <br />established from record information. The plans developed from the record information <br />will be field verified. Flow line elevations~will be obtaii~d at all accessible storm sewer <br />manholes and catch basins. Horizontal and vertical controls will be documented and <br />clearly shown on the plan drawings. <br />2. <br />The first design task will be the preparation of a conceptual plan to delineate the main <br />aspects of the work and to present alternatives for maintaining traffic. The preliminary <br />concept plan, budget and schedule will be presented to the City for review. <br />3. Design Services <br />All drawings will be prepared on 24" x 36" sheets, using lettering standards, symbols, <br />layouts and conventions used by the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Cuyahoga <br />County Engineer, if acceptable to the City of North Olmsted. A list of the anticipated <br />drawings is listed with the cost proposal in Section III. Applicable standard details and <br />construction drawings from the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Cuyahoga <br />County Engineer will be incorporated in the project drawings. <br />For specifications, we will refer to the 1997 Construction and Material Specifications of <br />the Ohio Department of Transportation. Any deviations or amplifications to these <br />specifications will be included in the Project Manual, which will also contain the <br />advertisement, instruction to bidders, general conditions, bid forms, bond requirements, <br />prevailing wage rates, affidavits, and other miscellaneous forms necessary to complete the <br />bidding document. <br />All drawings will be prepared using AutoCAD Version 12, and additions to the Project <br />mss, Manual will be prepared using Wordperfect for Windows. The AutoCAD drawings and <br />the additions to the Project Manual will be made available to the City on hard copy and <br />on diskettes upon completion of the project. <br />r <br />
