WHEREAS, said project will address the elimination of slums and blight in the designated <br />I.T.A., address Americans With Disabilities Act compliance issues, address historical <br />preservation issues; and <br />WHEREAS, said project will also benefit low and moderate income clientele by <br />benefiting the operations and recipients of the Emergency Food Cupboard and the North <br />Olmsted Commission On Paratransit, Inc.; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has selected this project based on its grant eligibility, competitive <br />potential, and its location in an Improvement Target Area; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby authorize and direct Don Copeland, <br />Director of the Department of Human Resources, to apply for <br />Community Development Block Grant funds for Fiscal Year 1997 <br />(23 rd Year), on behalf of the City of North Olmsted. Included in <br />the application shall be the aforesaid project. <br />SECTION 2: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety, <br />and welfare, and for the further reason it is immediately necessary for the <br />City to file an application for Community Development Block Grant <br />funds on or before March 03, 1997, and further, provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote oftwo-thirds of all members of the Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br />_.~~ <br />PASSED:` 7.~(..~t~~..~.e,et.. / ~' ~/ LI ~ ~ <br />ATTEST: <br />~ln-v~a~i-~ <br />BARBARA L.
