Section 3. Sick teave shali not be paid to any full-time empbyees which exceeds forty (40) hours <br />in a normal work week as defined in Article 10, Sections 1 and 2, of this Agreement. <br />Section 4. Employees hired after July 1, 1998 and have accumulated sick leave with another <br />political subdivision will transfer said sick leave and shall use the transferred sick leave prior to sick <br />leave accumulated while employed with the City of North 0(msted. <br />Sick leave carry-over from another political subdivision shall not be used to calculate an <br />employees buy-out pursuant to Sec#ion 9(e) above. <br />ARTICLE 16 - GENERAL LEAVE PROVISIONS <br />Section 1. All leaves of absence when known in advance (and any extensions thereoo must be <br />applied for and gran#ed in writing on forrns provided by the City (copy to the employee). An employee <br />and the Union will be notified within three (3) working days from the date the application was made <br />of approval or denial of the request leave. <br />Section 2. An employee shall accumulate seniority during any ieave of absence, but he shal( not <br />? <br />be entitled to any benefits, except that the City sha(( continue to pay its portion af the employee's <br />hospitalization insurance in Articte 25 for a three (3) month period. After the three (3) month period, <br />an employee must d+rect pay any required hospital/surgical premiums to the City on or before the <br />monthly due date. <br />Section 3. Wh+en an employee returns to work after a leave of absence, he wifl be assigned to <br />the pos'fion which he formerly occupied at the then current rate of pay (or to a similar position if his <br />former position no langer exis#s) if he is medically qualifisd and capable of performing the job <br />requirement as determined by the City. In the event the City questions whether the employee is <br />medically qualified tD do the work the City shall have the employee medically examined and pay for <br />such examination. <br />Section 4, No more than one (1) member of any Wastewater Treatment shift crew may be <br />ems:opeiwan-rao <br />98KNOLM.WPD 17 <br />
