is in conflict with law that provision shall be nuli and void and shall not affect the validity of the <br />remaining Articles of this Agreement. !n the event of an unlawfui determination, the C+ty and the <br />Union shall meet within thirty (30) days for the purpose of negotiating a lawfui alternative provision. <br />Nothing contained in this article shall be construed so as to diminish any right or benefit negotiated <br />by the parties and contained in this agreement. <br />ARTICLE 32 - SUB-CONTRACTING <br />Section 1. The City shall meet and confer with the Union prior to sub-contracfing out bargaining <br />unit work, other than emergency work ln the event a subcontract causes a lay-off, the City will make <br />every reasonable attempt to provide an opportunity of employment with the subcontractor for said <br />laid off bargaining unit employees. <br />Additionally, any sub-contracting of work shall not result in a layoff, for a period of 1 year, <br />after the date of sub-contract. <br />QRTICl.E 33 - LONGEVlTY PAY <br />Sectiort 1. Employees in the bargaining unit having completed five (5) years of full-time <br />continuous service as employees of said department, or having been transferred from some other <br />department by administrative appointment, shall be paid an additional four percent.(4°/a) of their base <br />annuaf salary, thereafter until campletion of ten (10) years full-time continuous service; after which <br />such employees shall receive five (5%) of their base annual salary, thereafter unti) completion of <br />their fifteenth (15th) year of continuous full-time service; after which said employees shall receive <br />six (6%) of their base annual salary until completion of their twentieth (20th) year of continuous full- <br />time service; and thereafter each year of full-time service they shall receive seven percent (7%) of <br />their base annuai salary as longevify increments. <br />Section .
