JOB CLASSIFICATION LABORER <br />RESPONSIBLE TO <br />OPERAT(ONS FOREMAN <br />NATURE OF WORK: <br />This is manual labor in the performance af semi-skilled and limited ski(led <br />work of a physically demanding nature. <br />Work involves perForming manual work of a semi-skilled nature, which <br />requires special previous training or experience. A[though the work is usually <br />performed under the immediate direction of an employee of a higher rank, and <br />instructions are received at the beginning of each new job; constant supervision is <br />not always available for routine and repe#itive tasks which can be carried on without <br />difficulty once they are learned. Automotive equipment may be operated. <br />EXAMPLES OF WORK: <br />• Participates in the work of crews engaged in the operation and maintenance of <br />the wastewater plant and related facilities; for example: repairs roofs, interior and <br />exterior of plant buildings; paints buildings, trim, walis, and ceilings; replaces <br />? windows, doors, and locks; repairs and maintains plant building and grounds. <br />• As required, keeps records of all work performed; reports need for materials and <br />equipment on construction and repair jobs. <br />• Assists operators with general duties including hosing of tanks, equipment, wakks, <br />drives, etc. Assist in cleaning duties as required by the nature of the operation of <br />a wastewater treatment plant. <br />• Assist the maintenance division when required with their assigned work. <br />• Duty station with any of the three divisions of the Wastewater Department; <br />namely: operational, maintenance, or system wili be assigned by the <br />Superintendent as required. <br />• As required and assigned, will operate automotive equipment; such as pick-up <br />trucks, automobiles, dump trucks, dempsey dumpster, etc. When operating <br />trucks greater than five (5) ton capacity, the employee shall be paid "A" Laborer <br />rate. Work will be characterized by the large variety of general duties of a semi- <br />skifled nature which must be done in the Wastewater Division. <br />_r- <br />68 <br />
