Section 5. It is specifically agresd by the Union that this disciplinary procedure, including <br />the grievance procedure, shali be the sole remedy for an employee demoted, suspended or <br />terminated under the provisinn of the Agreement, and the disciplinary procedures and grievance <br />provisions shaN prevaii. <br />Section 6; The Union shall provide the Director of Pubiic Service, Director o# Personnel and <br />Administrative Services, Director of Public Safety and the Mayor with a complete list of persons <br />that have been selectad by the Union ta act as Union representatives. The Uniort shall provide a <br />complete updated revised Iist within ten (10) working days each and every time a change in <br />representation occurs. The list sha11 contain the effective date of the change in representation. <br />ARTICLE 7 - GRlEVANCE PROCEDURE <br />AW, , Section 1: It is mutually understood by the Union and the City that the prompt presentation, <br />adjustment and answering of grievances is desirable in the interest of sound relations between <br />the employee and the City. The prompt and fair disposition of grievances involves important and <br />equal obligations and responsibifities, both joint and independent, on the part of the <br />representatives of each party to protect and preserve the Grievance Procedure as an orderiy <br />means of resolving grievances. Actions by the City or the Union which tend tp impair and/or <br />weaken the Grievance Procedure are improper. The Grievance Procedure shall not be used or <br />attempted ta be used as a means #o present issues that are nat relevant to the provisions of this <br />Agreement or attempt to use the Grievance Procedure #o modify any term, conditlon or provision <br />contained within this Agreement. <br />Section 2: A grievance is a dispute or difference beiwesn the City and the Union, or <br />between the City and an employee, conceming the interpre#ation or appiication and/orcompliance <br />em s: o p e i u/ 17 94af I- c i o <br />-9- <br />?
