ARTICLE 1 PURPOSE <br />Section 1. This Agreement is made between the City of North Olmsted, hereinafter <br />referred to as the "City', and Ohio Council 8 and.*Local No. 2681 of the American <br />Federation of State, County and Municipai Employees, AFl.-CIO, hereinafter referred to <br />as the "Union". The male pronoun or adjecEive used herein refers to the femals also uniess <br />otherwise indicated. The term "employee" or "emp(oyees" where used herein refers to ail <br />employess in the bargaining unit. The purpose of this Agreement is to provide a fair and <br />responsible method af enabling empfoyees covered bythe Contractto participate through <br />Union representation in the establishment of terms and conditions and of #heir <br />employment, including rates of pay, wages, hours and working conditions, and to establish <br />a peaceful procedure for the resolution of a(I differences between the parties. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 2 - RECOGNITION <br />Section 1. The Union is recognized as the sole and exclusive representative for a <br />bargaining unit of a!I clerical and technical employees vf the City of North Olmsted in the <br />classificatians contained in Appendix B, with respect to wages, hours and other terms and <br />canditions of employment, but excluding a!( confidential employees, all members of the <br />police and fire departments, management level employees and supervisors as defined in <br />the Act, and all empioyees currently represented by an employee organization. <br />ARi"ICLE 3 - NON-DlSCRlMINATION <br />Section 1.
