J4B DESCRIPTION• ' <br />POSITION TITLE: HEATING, VENTILATING & AIR <br />CONDtTIONiNG INSPECTOR <br />RESPONSIBLE TO: BUlLDING COMMISSIONER <br />MINIMUM QUAI.IFICATIONS• <br />1. Minimum Education - High School or equivalent. <br />2: Minimum six (6) years experience in commercial and residential heating installation. <br />3. Apprentice heating School or Engineering studies background relating to HVAC <br />4. Must be able to read plans and specifications. <br />5. Must be able to deal tactfully and effectively with the public. <br />6. Must have a thorough knowledge or be prepared #o become acquainted with the City of North <br />Olmsted 's heating, venti(ating, and other accepted practices. <br />DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: <br />1. Review plans and specifications. Authorizes the issuance of permits for HVAC installations. <br />2. Makes field inspections to determine if HVAC installation meets code requirements, and is <br />built according to plan. <br />3. Evaluates heating applications submitted for permit to determine if the system will heat or <br />cool for structure as intended. <br />4. Determines that the air handling equipment has the proper approvals. <br />5. Enforces the National Model Energy Code and the City of North Olmsted Insulation <br />Code. <br />6. Make field inspections of each instaliation at various stages of completion_ <br />7. Keeps records of aU pecmits and inspections made. <br />8. Performs related work as assigned by the Building Commissioner. <br />9. Other duties as assigned. <br />-68- <br />???
