<br />Department, for natices of Union business, inciuding notices of Union meetings, elections, and <br />other Union-reiated matters. AIf notices or o#her materiais posted must be signed and dated by <br />a Union officer or steward. Upon request by the City, the Union shall remove any posting that is <br />inflammatory or critica( of the City, City ofificials, or of any other empfoyees or persons, of which <br />are politica! (partisan) in nature p,RTrCLE 6 UNION REPRESENTATION <br />Section 1. Employees seiectsd by the Union to act as Union representa#ives for the <br />purpose of processing grievances under the Grievance Procedure shall be known as Stewards. <br />The City wiii recognize one steward and one altemate from each of the follawing: <br />1. Buiiding Division <br />2. Pofice/Fire Department <br /> <br />3. Recreation Division, <br />Springvale Golf Course <br />4. Finance and Service <br />Department and Bus <br />Line, Senior Center . <br />and Public Works and Fieet Maintenance <br />5. Engineering Division, PBX/Receptionist <br />The steward shall represent employees on ail three (3) shifts. The aitemate steward shall <br />be recognized when the reguiar steward is absent or otheruvise not avaiiable. <br />Section 2. Employees who participate in meetings under Step 1 of the Grievance <br />Procedure, during their scheduled work time, or other meetings scheduled by the City under the <br />Grievance Procedure, during the scheduled working time, will be paid for time actuaiiy lost from <br />their scheduled work t+me for the purpose of participating in such meetings. The investigation and <br />processing of grievances by union representative during working time shall be limited to the iast <br />fifteen minutes of a shift. <br />Section 3. The Locai Union Grievance Committee shall consist of the President, Chapter <br />Chairperson and the Steward from the department involved, but not more than three (3) persons. <br />When there is a reduction in force, the fo(lowing union officials shall be retained in preference to <br />ems:opeiu/1794af1-cio _7_ <br />
