Department, for natices of Union business, inciuding notices of Union meetings, elections, and other Union-reiated matters. AIf notices or o#her materiais posted must be signed and dated by a Union officer or steward. Upon request by the City, the Union shall remove any posting that is inflammatory or critica( of the City, City ofificials, or of any other empfoyees or persons, of which are politica! (partisan) in nature p,RTrCLE 6 UNION REPRESENTATION Section 1. Employees seiectsd by the Union to act as Union representa#ives for the purpose of processing grievances under the Grievance Procedure shall be known as Stewards. The City wiii recognize one steward and one altemate from each of the follawing: 1. Buiiding Division 2. Pofice/Fire Department 3. Recreation Division, Springvale Golf Course 4. Finance and Service Department and Bus Line, Senior Center . and Public Works and Fieet Maintenance 5. Engineering Division, PBX/Receptionist The steward shall represent employees on ail three (3) shifts. The aitemate steward shall be recognized when the reguiar steward is absent or otheruvise not avaiiable. Section 2. Employees who participate in meetings under Step 1 of the Grievance Procedure, during their scheduled work time, or other meetings scheduled by the City under the Grievance Procedure, during the scheduled working time, will be paid for time actuaiiy lost from their scheduled work t+me for the purpose of participating in such meetings. The investigation and processing of grievances by union representative during working time shall be limited to the iast fifteen minutes of a shift. Section 3. The Locai Union Grievance Committee shall consist of the President, Chapter Chairperson and the Steward from the department involved, but not more than three (3) persons.
