In an ?rgeacy situation, verbal commmic.at3on with the <br />supervisor is appmpriate and may justify waiviaq advaace <br />notification. <br />ARTICLB 19: <br />STCK LEAVE <br />3ECTION 1: Aa emp2oyee' shall be qranted sick leave for <br />personal illness or injury as follows: <br />a) Paid sick leave shall be earned and accumulated at the <br />rate of one and one-fourth (1 1/4) days for each month; <br />b) Pay for sick leave shall be at the employee's srraiqht <br />time hourly rate (or portion thereof if absent for less <br />than a full day); <br />c) If an employee is absent on sick leave for more than <br />three (3) consecutive work days, the City shall require <br />the employee to present medical evidence that the <br />employee was under a doctor's care and is able to return <br />to work. The Gity wi11 review the attendance records of <br />employees periodically and at least onee. in each three <br />(3) month period. If it believes that an employee is <br />developing an attendance problem, it will notify the <br />employee in writing that medical evidence will be <br />required for absences of three (3) days or less. When an <br />einployee's record becomes satisfactory by qoinq three (3) <br />months without an absence, the requirement for such <br />medical evidence for short term absence will be remaved, <br />and the employee will.be notified in writing. <br />d) Employees may use up to fifteen (15) work days per year <br />of earned and accumulated sick leave if necessitated by <br />illness in the employee's immediate family.
