::.?.. <br />IDUCATION: <br />B.S., Civii Engineering, 1481 <br />B.S., Geology, 1981 <br />Case Western Reserve Universiry, Cleveland, Ohio <br />EXP'ERIENCE: <br />Mrs. Vargas has concributed to the design of a variety of civil engineenng projects, with <br />emphasis on highway design, roadway rehabilitation, pavement design, right-of-way, utilities, <br />drainage, and hydraulic calculations. Her responsibilities have included the pnparation of <br />convact drawings and spocificazions, quandty calculations and cost estimates, and coordination <br />of woric wich public agencies, private ucilities and subconsultants. <br />Her most recent exQerience includes design work on the following projects: <br />Pnoject Manager: Widening arxi reconsauction of Richmond Road in Warrensville Heights <br />and Highland Hills, Cuyahoga Counry, for the Ohio Deparanent of Transportation. The <br />work for this 0.6 mile section included complete removal of the 2-lane road. replacernent <br />with a 4-lane reinforced concrece pavement with turning lares and a 30-foat median, <br />construction of new st,orm sewers, sanitary sewer, wazer line relocation, pavetnmt <br />marking, signing, right-of-way and maintenance of traffic. Extensive cootdinazion was <br />performed to mauh woric on adjoining projects and to inform private utility avmers. <br />Projeet Msaager: Highway [mprovements to U.S. Rout,e 322, Geauga Cowtry for <br />che Ohio Depanment of Transporcation. The design includes tte iniprovemcmt of a 2.5 mile <br />section of U.S. Roum 322 from 2lanes co 4 and 5 lanes and 0.6 mile of Statc Route 306 to <br />5 lanes. T'he preliminary phase includes the establishmern of horizontal and vertical <br />alignment, relocation of Caves Road, pavement design and typical secaons. The fiaal <br />design inctudes the preparation of roadway plans, drainage design, right-of-way plans, <br />signal ptans, maintenance of traftic plans, cross-road intersection details, signing and <br />pavement marking and construction cost estimate. <br />Iksign Engineer: Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitazion Program of the Ohio <br />Deparanem of Trar?sportazion. Mrs. Vargas is responsible for various aspxts related to <br />roadway design, drainage, right-of-way, utility relocations and coordinatian on this <br />ongoing program.
