For purposes of this Agreenent, a work day is <br />defined as a continuous eight (8) hour period in any twenty-four <br />(24) hour period, which shall include a paid one (1) hour meal <br />when possible, and a work week is defined as forty (40) hours. <br />Section 2. Compensation for regularly scheduled eight (8) <br />hour days shall be at the straight-time rate of pay. <br />Section 3. Employees shall be allowed not less than sixty <br />(60) uninterrupted minutes for a paid scheduled meal when pos- <br />sible daily except for other schedules mutually agreed upon with <br />the Union. <br />OVERTIME PAY AND COURT TIME <br />ARTICLE XVIII <br />Section 1. All employees, for work performed in excess of <br />forty (40) hours-in one week or eiqht (8) hours, which shall <br />include the one (1) hour paid meal period when possible in a <br />twenty-four (24) hour period, shall be compensated, at the <br />employee's election, either at (a) the rate of one and one-half <br />(1-1/2) times the employee's regular hourly rate for all overtime <br />or (b) compensatory time computed at the same rate to be taken in. <br />-11-
