<br />Section 8. For the purpose of Section 7, it shall not be <br />deemed practicable to distribute an overtime opportunity in <br />strict accordance with the overtime lists where: (1) the Employ- <br />er, in good faith, estimates that the opportunity consists of no <br />more than one (lj hour of overtime work per man required, or (2) <br />the opportunity arises during an emergency. <br />In distributing overtime opportunities, the Employer or its <br />representatives shall not engage in a policy favoring an employee <br />or employees, unless this Aqreement requires certain employees to <br />work the overtime. <br />HOLIDAYS <br />ARTICLE XIX <br />Section 1. All full-time employees shall receive the <br />following paid holidays: , <br />New Year's Day <br />President's Day <br />Easter <br />Memorial Day <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Veteran's Day <br />Christmas Day <br />Employee's Birthday <br />Employee's Personal Day <br />Section 2. All full-time employees shall be entitled to the. <br />holidays listed in Section 1 during the year and shall not be <br />required to work on these holidays, unless scheduled to work by <br />the Chief of Police. In the event the employee either works or <br />was not scheduled to work for reasons other than holiday leave on <br />one of the above listed holidays, then the employee shall receive <br />another day off from work to replace the holiday he worked or was <br />not required to work for reasons other than holiday leave. <br />Section 3. Each Employee shall receive an additional four <br />(4) hours straight-time pay if required to work eight (8) hours <br />or more on the below designated holidays, or, receive time off in <br />lieu thereof as approved by the Chief of Police. <br />a. Effective July 20, 1989 the holidays shall be: New <br />Year's Day, President's Day, Easter, Independence Day <br />(July 4th), Thanksgiving Day and Christmas. <br />b. Effective July 20, 1990 the holidays shall be: New <br />Year's Day, President's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, <br />Independence Day (July 4th), Labor Day, Thanksgiving <br />Day and Christmas. <br />c. Effective July 20, 1991 the holidays shall be: New <br />Year's Day, President's Day,. Easter, Memorial Day, <br />Independence Day (July 4th), Labor Day, Veteran's Day, <br />Thanksgiving Day and Christmas. <br />-13-
