. .._.?._?. a.. . ?; .?. .. a__.. ? <br />SECTION 3: That the GCRTA adopt a policy to conduct <br />separate public hearings for rate increases and service <br />decreases. <br />SECTION 4: That the GCRTA be mandated to adhere to its <br />contractual obligations with North Olmsted and Maple Heights <br />which allows the input of both of these communities before <br />decreases in service are made. <br />SECTION 5: That the GCRTA begin to recognize its <br />obligation <br />not only to <br />to transport residents throughout Cuyahoga <br />downtown Cleveland. <br />County - <br />SECTION 6: That the State of Ohio recognize the <br />importance of public transportation and consider a tax upon <br />gasoline and on parking with all proceeds earmarked for the <br />public transit agency service in the area where the tax is <br />levied. <br />SECTION 7: That the Clerk of Council is hereby <br />directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Federal <br />Transit Authority, Governor George Voinovich, Speaker of the <br />Ohio House Vernal Riffe, Senators John Glenn and Howard <br />Metzenbaum, Congressmen Martin Hoke, Louis Stokes and Eric <br />Fingerhut, GCRTA Board members and GCRTA General Manager <br />Ronald Tober. <br />SECTION 8: That this Resolution is hereby declared to <br />be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the <br />preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and <br />further provided it receives an affirmative vote of <br />two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and <br />be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br />PASSED: <br />ATTEST: <br />rbara L. <br />APPROVED:4 <br />Q?;p <br />erdz of Counc <br />? <br />(n <br />James D.
