Thus, the Fire <br /> Department will take the necessary steps, including drug testing, to <br /> eliminate illegal drug usage. It is the goal of this policy to <br /> prevent and rehabilitate rather than terminate the employnent of <br /> workers who are abusin; drugs. No member of the Fire Department <br /> ll be discharged for illegal drug use without first having been <br />sha <br /> . <br />offered the opportimi.ty to discontinue use either through personal <br /> choice or by treatnent for chemical dependency, if such treatment is <br /> needed. .. <br />-27-
