33.2 INFORMING IIMPLOYEES ABOUT DRUG TH:STING <br />All Fmployees will be fully informed of the Fire Department's <br />drub testing policy before testing is administered. Employees <br />will be provided with infomiation concerning the impact of the use <br />of drugs on job performance. In addition, the ?ployer shall <br />inforni the Enployees of how the tests are conducted, how well <br />the tests perform, when the tests will be conducted, what the <br />tests can determine, and the consequences of testing positive <br />for dru,g use. All newly hired Fmployees will be provided with <br />this inforr.iation on their initial date of hire. No Employee <br />shall be tested until this information is provided to him. <br />33.3 FTIPLOYEE TESTING <br />No Fmployee will be tested for drug abuse unless there exists <br />probable cause to believe that the Fire Fighter to be tested is <br />under the influence of illegal drugs. Random or m. ass testing is <br />prohibited. No such testing riay be conducted without the written <br />approval of the officer in charbe of the tmi.t. Me officer in <br />charge must dociment in writing who is to be tested and why the <br />testing was ordered. Failu:e to follotv any of these procedures <br />shall result in the eliMination of the test results as if no test <br />had been administered. The test results sha.ll be destroyed and no <br />discipline shall be levied against the Friployee. <br />33.4 URINE COLLECTION <br />Urine Collection shall be conducted in a manner which.provides a <br />high degree of security for the sample and freedon fron <br />adulteration. Employees shall not be witnessed while submitting <br />a sample. Instead, adninistrative procedures and biologic testino <br />of the samples shall be conducted to prevent the subriission of <br />fraudulent tests. In testin.o which could result in Fmployee <br />discipline, if the test result is positive a split sariple shall <br />be reserved for independent analysis. Upon request, an Fmployee <br />shall be entitled to the presence of a imion representative <br />before testirig is adninistered. <br />33.5 TESTING PROCIDURES <br />Al1 sanples shall be tested for CHEMICAL ADULTERATION, PdARCOTICS, <br />CANmABIS, PCP, COCAINE, AMPHRTAMTNFS, ANID SIDATIVES.
