AW Section 2: Compensation for regularly scheduled eight (8) <br />hour days shall be at the straight-time rate of pay. <br />Section 3: Employees shall be allowed not less than sixty <br />(60) uninterrupted minutes for a paid scheduled meal when <br />possible daily except for other schedules mutually agreed <br />upon with the Union. <br />ARTICLE 20 <br />OVERTIME PAY AND COIIRT TIME <br />section 1: All employees, for work performed in excess of <br />forty (40) hours in one week or eight (8) hours, which shall <br />include the one (1) hour paid meal period when possible in a <br />twenty-four (24) hour period, shall be compensated, at the <br />employee's election, either at (a) the rate of one and one <br />half (1-1/2) times the employee's regular hourly rate for all <br />overtime or (b) compensatory time computed at the same rate <br />to be taken in the future as approved. All paid leave or <br />other paid time shall count as time worked in the calculation <br />of overtime. <br />Section 2: On January 15, April 15, July 15, and October 15 <br />?OO^ of each year, each member of the Police Department shall be <br />SWI? paid for all overtime hours accumulated in excess of eighty <br />(80) hours of the three (3) calendar month period iYpmediately <br />prior to the above dates of January 15, April 15, Jaly 15 and <br />October 15. Any payment as set forth above shall be paid at <br />the rate of pay applicabl.e to each employee according to his <br />Police Department classification, and payments shall include <br />longevity earned. <br />Section 3: Any employee who qualifies for overtime by virtue <br />of the provisions of Section 1 hereof shall be paid a minimum <br />of two (2) hours, at overtime rate, when required to report <br />for extra duty over and above his regular work day and work <br />week. <br />Section 4: An employee who is required to be absent from <br />scheduled work to serve as a witness called by a party in a <br />City or job-related litigation will be paid for time lost <br />from scheduled straight time work. An employee who is called <br />as a witness due to his part-time employment in the area of <br />public or private law enforcement shall not receive witness <br />pay from the City. <br />14
