ARTICLE 27 <br />BEREAVEMENT LEAVE <br />Section 1: Al1 employees shall be granted bereavement leave <br />(not to be deducted from employee's accumulated sick leave) <br />according to the following schedule, to wit: <br />(a) Upon the death of an immediate family member, other <br />than spouse, three (3) days; and <br />(b) Upon the death of a spouse, or a child of the <br />immediate family, five (5) days. <br />Section 2: For the purposes of this Article, immediate <br />family shall mean: parents; parents of spouse; brother; <br />sister; brother of spouse; sister of spouse; grandparent; <br />grandchild; as well as persons living in the employee's home. <br />ARTICLE 28 <br />JIIRY DIITY LEAVE <br />Section 1: An employee called for jury duty shall be granted <br />a leave of absence for the period of the jury service and <br />will be compensated at full pay for absences necessarily <br />? caused by the jury duty. <br />Section 2: Employees working the second, third, reiief or <br />overlap shifts, will not be required to work on the day that <br />the employee is on jury duty and these employees will be <br />compensated as provided in Section 1. <br />ARTICLE 29 <br />''BEALTH AND SAFETY <br />Section i: Safety must be a prime concern and responsibility <br />of both parties. Therefore, the Employer accepts the <br />responsibility to provide safe working conditions, and <br />establish safe working practices for his employees. The <br />Employer agrees to furnish bargaining unit employees all <br />equipment required and maintain all such equipment in safe <br />working conditions in order for them to fulfill their duties. <br />8ection 2: A. All unsafe working conditions must be <br />reported by the employee in writing to the employee's <br />immediate supervisor in charge within twenty-four (24) hours <br />of the time such unsafe working conditions become apparent. <br />23 <br />t <br />
