<br />City of North Olmsted - Ordinance No. 92- 83 <br />page 2 <br />WHEREAS, the aforementioned sixty-eight and nine tenths percent (68.9%) share <br />equals Four Thousand Four Hundred Seventy-Eight Dollars and Fifty Cents ($4478.50) to be <br />paid by the City of North Olmsted in 1992 and in 1993; and <br />WHEREAS, a non-profit organization, the North Olmsted Commission on Paratransit, <br />will be established by North Olmsted City Ordinance No. 92-_U in order to meet the <br />requirements of the Department of Transportation, State of Ohio. <br />NOW, THERBFORE, BE TT ORDAINED BY THIS CITY COUNCII. OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO. <br />SFCTION 1: That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />cooperative agreement with the City of Olmsted Falls and with Olmsted Township to acquire <br />"conversion van" vehicles to provide transportation services to the elderly and/or <br />handicapped of the City of North Olmsted, the City of Olmsted Falls, and Olmsted Township <br />through funding provided by the Ohio Department of Transportation, said van to be <br />according to specifications outlined and set forth by the City of North Olmsted in its <br />application to the Ohio Department of Transportation. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor is hereby authorized to direct the Finance Director to <br />pay the sum of Four Thousand Four Hundred Seventy-Eight Dollars and Fifty Cents <br />($4478.50) to the appropriate entity, representing the City's share of the matching funds <br />required to obtain the Ohio Department of Transportation grant for purchasing said vehicle. <br />SECTION 3: That the Mayor is authorized and directed to establish an equitable and <br />acceptable system with the City of Olmsted Falls and Olmsted Township for the use of said <br />vehicle by the elderly and/or handicapped residents of the City of North Olmsted. <br />SECTION 4: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of public health, safety and welfare of the <br />residents of the City of North Olmsted, and for the further reason that it is immediately <br />necessary to proceed with the payment of matching funds necessary to obtain the funding set <br />forth herein from the Ohio Department of Transportation. Therefore, this ordinance shall <br />take effect immediately upon the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council <br />and upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
