ARTICLE XVII LABOR-MANAGIIMENT COMMITTEE Section 17.01 A Labor-Management Committee shall be established to discuss issues relating to the Transit Departr,ient including matters of safety, which have not been the subject of a grievance or negotiation. The Committee shall consist of up to there (3) representatives of the NOTEA and up to three (3) representatives of the Fmployer. - Section 17.02. The Committee shall meet as necessary but not later than ten (10) working days after the request of either the NOTEA or the Fmployer. Each side shall advise the other in writing of its designated members. Either side shall have the right to substitute members at the meetings. ARTICLE XVIII SICK LEAVE Section 18.01. Sick Leave shall be defined as an absence necessitated by personal illness or injury, including pregnancy, to the employee arising on any scheduled day of work. Section 18.02. Fill-time employees shall receive annual sick leave according to the following formula: Sick leave hours per year = ten (10) hours x months worked. "Months Worked" does not include a suspension of five (5) consecutive work days or longer. "Months Worked" does not include any leave of absence as described in Section 19.01 and 19.02 of this Agreement. Accumulated sick leave hours shall continue to be indicated on all full- time employees pay stub. Section 18.03. Sick leave shall not be pa.id to any full-time employee, which exceeds forty (40) hours in any given week. A week is defined as 12:01 AM, Sunday to 12:00 Midnight Saturday. Sectian 18.04. An employee who is to be absent on sick leave shall notify the Fmployer of such absence and the reason therefor at least one half hour before the start of his work shift each day he is to be absent. It is recognized, however, that an employee who is to be hospitalized or is recuperating fran such hospitalization shall not be required to call in on a daily basis. Such employee shall be required to notify the City of the first day of his absence and shall be required to keep the City regularly apprised of his anticipated date of return. Section 18.05. A full-time employee who is absent an sick leave for an entire scheduled work day shall be charged at a maximtun of eight (8) hours of sick leave and shall be paid at one-hundred (100%) of their regular rate; unless Section 18.06 D.) is applied. A full-time employee who is absent for a portion of a scheduled work day shall be charged the amount of time absent to the nearest minute and shall be paid at one-hundred (100%) of their regular rate; imless Section 18.06 D.) is applied. Sick leave may not be paid for any full-time employee on his two (2) scheduled day's off, each week; even if he ha.d been scheduled to work overtime. Sick leave may not be used for less than one (1) hour. -11-
