ARTICLE XVII <br />LABOR-MANAGIIMENT COMMITTEE <br />Section 17.01 A Labor-Management Committee shall be established to <br />discuss issues relating to the Transit Departr,ient including matters of <br />safety, which have not been the subject of a grievance or negotiation. The <br />Committee shall consist of up to there (3) representatives of the NOTEA and <br />up to three (3) representatives of the Fmployer. - <br />Section 17.02. The Committee shall meet as necessary but not later <br />than ten (10) working days after the request of either the NOTEA or the <br />Fmployer. Each side shall advise the other in writing of its designated <br />members. Either side shall have the right to substitute members at the <br />meetings. <br />ARTICLE XVIII <br />SICK LEAVE <br />Section 18.01. Sick Leave shall be defined as an absence necessitated <br />by personal illness or injury, including pregnancy, to the employee arising <br />on any scheduled day of work. <br />Section 18.02. Fill-time employees shall receive annual sick leave <br />according to the following formula: Sick leave hours per year = ten (10) <br />hours x months worked. <br />"Months Worked" does not include a suspension of five (5) consecutive work <br />days or longer. "Months Worked" does not include any leave of absence as <br />described in Section 19.01 and 19.02 of this Agreement. <br />Accumulated sick leave hours shall continue to be indicated on all full- <br />time employees pay stub. <br />Section 18.03. Sick leave shall not be pa.id to any full-time employee, <br />which exceeds forty (40) hours in any given week. A week is defined as <br />12:01 AM, Sunday to 12:00 Midnight Saturday. <br />Sectian 18.04. An employee who is to be absent on sick leave shall <br />notify the Fmployer of such absence and the reason therefor at least one <br />half hour before the start of his work shift each day he is to be absent. It <br />is recognized, however, that an employee who is to be hospitalized or is <br />recuperating fran such hospitalization shall not be required to call in on a <br />daily basis. Such employee shall be required to notify the City of the <br />first day of his absence and shall be required to keep the City regularly <br />apprised of his anticipated date of return. <br />Section 18.05. A full-time employee who is absent an sick leave for an <br />entire scheduled work day shall be charged at a maximtun of eight (8) hours <br />of sick leave and shall be paid at one-hundred (100%) of their regular rate; <br />unless Section 18.06 D.) is applied. <br />A full-time employee who is absent for a portion of a scheduled work day <br />shall be charged the amount of time absent to the nearest minute and shall <br />be paid at one-hundred (100%) of their regular rate; imless Section 18.06 D.) <br />is applied. Sick leave may not be paid for any full-time employee on his two <br />(2) scheduled day's off, each week; even if he ha.d been scheduled to work <br />overtime. Sick leave may not be used for less than one (1) hour. <br />-11-
