Lead for pipe joints shall be pure., soft and malleables containing not lsss than 99.73% pure 1ead., fras of dross and capable of being caulked into the 3oints without crocking. The producer's naane or mark shall be cast or stamped on each piece of lead. Yarn for lead 3oints shall be braided hsmp or untarred.. closelq twi.sted juta. Each strand shall be of such length as will reach entirely around the pipe., and shall be of suffiaient thickness to bring the bottoms of ad3oining pipes to the same level. The joint material and construction thereof shall conform. to the Cuyahoga County Sanitary Engineering Department Sewer Specifications, g. Connections iTFe conneetion of the building sewer into the public sewer shall be made by the "Y" branch., if such branch is available at a suitabls 2ocation. If the public sewer is twslve (12) inches in diameter or less., and no properly located "Y" branch is availaole, the awner shall at hi.s expense install a "Yn branch in the public sewer at the location speci.fied by the Service Director. `,Tnere the public sewer is greater than twelve (12) inches in diameter., and no praper2y located "Yn branch is available, a neat hole may be cut into the public sewer to receive the bvilding sewer wi.th entry in the down- stream diraction at an angle of about forty-five (45) degrees. 4 forty-five (45) degree ell may be used to maks sueh conneetion., with the spigot end cut so as not to extend past tYe inner surface of the public sewer. The invert of the bu3.lding sewer at the point of connection shall be at the same or at a highsr eZevation than the invert of the public sewer, A smooth, neat joint shall be mads, and the connection made secura and wRtertight by encase- ment in concrete. Special fittings may be used for the connection only when approved by the Service Director. Section 2: INSPFGTIOA1 The applicant for tne btuldi.ng sewer permit sYiall natify the Service Director twenty-foux (24) hours before commeneement of con- struction of said building sewer. The construction of the bui.lding sewor and the connection to the public sawer shall be made under the supervi.sion af the Service Disector or his representative. Section 3: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an ernergency measu•re and such smergency exists by virtue of the necessity of maki.ng provisions for the immadi.ate construction of sanitazy sewers as reauired by the Ner-all Sanitary Sewage Pragram now under construction in the Clity.
