'~,,,a"~" a <br />AB ORDIBABCE FIXI~'C THE DIITIES 9~iD C4MF'EBSATIQB OF THE <br />CITY EEfGII~EER AND DECLARIBG AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHENEAS, it has been determined that more acl.equats provisions relating to the <br />dutie$ and compensatican of the City Engineer should be established and, when so established <br />and att h4igineer appointed, that a eostraet of employment bs entered into encompas~eing the <br />dutieffi and comtpensation as herein established, <br />MOW, FARE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Borth Olmsted, County <br />of Cuyahoga and State of Ohia: <br />Section 1: The appointee as City E~eginesr for the City of Forth Olmsted shall <br />be a registered engineer under the Laws of the State of Ohio sad be and remain in good <br />standing during the term of his employment. <br />Section 2: The City Engineer shall be paid the s~aa of ~ p2O~ ~ per month, <br />payable on the 1st day of sash month, which monthly compensation shall be c~sidered a <br />retainer fee for which the Eng3x:.esr mast be readily available to the members of Council <br />sad other city officials as consultant on engineering matters sad all matters relating to <br />the devel®p~t, repair, construction and protection of city property, including streets <br />sad improvements thersi.n, excepting coaches of the Borth Olmsted M:anicipal Coach Line anal <br />other automativs or mechanical equipment of the various depaxtaeats of the city; matters <br />relating t© the construction, repair, alteration or improvement of private lands or build- <br />ings within the purview of the Building department requiring engineering advice or super- <br />vision; to attend all Council meetings and, when requested, all committee of Couaeil <br />meetings; and to be available for general engineering information to the public by appoint- <br />ment, and all telephone sad general office correspondence. <br />(a) For engineering work performed for the City of North Olmsted, <br />where drafting, designing, estimating, or field work is required <br />the following schedule of rates shall apply and be payable on <br />the 1st day of each month following the invoice of said City <br />Engineer indicating the performance of said work: <br />Helper, 8odman or Chairman $4.00 per hour <br />Instrument Man 5.00 per hour <br />Party Chief or Office Engineer 6.00 per hour <br />Reg3.stered Professional Engineer or <br />Principal on Special Work, Conference, <br />Court Work, etc. 6.50 per hour <br />In the performance of the work hereinbefore set forth 3.n this <br />paragraph (a) of Section 1 the EYig3aeer shall be required o <br />~" furnish all necessary tools, equipment, transportation, insurance <br />amd to comply with laws relating to IInemployment Compensation, <br />Workmens Co~apensation sad other regulatory acts of the united <br />States Goversme~at and State of Ohio relating to employers, <br />particularly applicable to employment by municipal corporations <br />of the State of Ohio. <br />
