35_ Employees Cleenerally 1,6,1 Oq <br />161.01 SICK LEAVE. <br />Each full time employee of the City is entitled to and shall be allowed sick leave of <br />one and one fourth work days with pay for each completed month of service. <br />Employees may use sick leave upon approval of the administrative officer of the <br />department in which they are employed for absence due to illness, injury, exposure to <br />contagious disease which could be communicated to other employees and to illness or <br />death in the employee's immediate family. Unused sick leave shall be Qumulative up to <br />ninety work days unless more than ninety days are approved by the administrative officer <br />of the department. <br />Previously accumulated sick leave of an employee who has been separated from <br />municipal service may be placed to his credit upon his re-employment in the service of <br />the City. An employee who transfers from one City department to another City depart- <br />ment shall be credited with the unused balance of his accumulated sick leave. <br />Provisional appointees or those who render part time, seasonal, intermittent, per <br />diem or hourly service shall be entitled to sick leave for the time actually worked at the <br />same rate as that granted full time employees. <br />The administrative officer of the department in which the employee is employed may <br />require the employee to furnish a satisfactory affidavit to the eff®ct that his absence was <br />caused by illness due to arty of the foregoing causes. <br />This section shall be uniformly administered as to employees in each department of <br />the City government. (Ord. 972. Passed 6-17-52.) <br />~~- 161.02 REINSTATEMENT AFTER MILITARY SERVICE. <br />(a) Any employee of the City inducted into the military services of the United States <br />of America shall be entitled to reinstatement to the position he held at the time of the <br />induction into the military service, upon his discharge from service. <br />(b) No seniority rights of any employee of the City shall be affected by his induction <br />into the military service of the United States of America. The employee shall be given <br />credit for all time served in the military service, upon reinstatement to his position in <br />the City in so far as Council has authority to do so. <br />(Ord. 836. Passed 8-1=50.) <br />161.03 EMPLOYEE'S VACATIONS; EXCEPTIONS. <br />All employees of the City, excepting those employed on the Municipal Coach Line and <br />the Fire and Police Departments, shall be given the following paid vacations: Those with <br />more than six months service, but less than one year of service shall receive one week <br />vacation with pay during the calendar year. Employees with more than one years service <br />but less than fifteen years service shall be entitled to and receive two w~ka vacation with <br />pay during each calendar year of such employment. Those employees with fifteen or <br />more consecutive years of employment with the City shall thereafter be entitled to and <br />receive three weeks paid vacation during each calendar year of employment. <br />(Ord. 2737.
